Marilyn D. Jackson is President and CEO of UnderGrid Networks, a technology and engineering firm, guiding businesses around the globe in developing solutions based on Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence and Data Innovation.

After successful corporate careers with Verizon, Cisco and IBM, Marilyn launched Undergrid Networks and is one of the few women business owners focused on the mobile core and Software Defined Architectures.  Her experiences and book of outcomes include, but are not limited to, ushering Fortune 100 companies into new technology adoptions while improving their operational efficiencies and bottom lines.

Marilyn is a recognized technology expert and is known for crafting the requisite strategic visions, then turning those visions into profitable products and businesses. She serves as an Advisor to many Blockchain based projects.   Her latest entrepreneurial success includes defining the North American standards for Rich Communication Services with Mobile Carriers. Google and Samsung to develop Application2Person messaging utilizing universal mobile platforms.

She is a quiet, but omnipotent force and comes from a long background of leadership and executive responsibility, which she now uses to master her entrepreneurial endeavors.  She became interested in Blockchain Technology in 2014 and has focused on the technical working of Blockchain and formed The Blockchain Technical Alliance to bring standards and policies to the world of Blockchain adoption.  Her technology skill portfolio is comprised of a unique blend of High Tech Business Incubation in the areas of Cyber Security, Privacy, Mobile, Network and Data Center Infrastructures, the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Cognitive Computing, and Business Operations.

Marilyn is a frequent speaker on topics including technology visions for changing the workplace and living environments and devotes much of her personal time to causes which further the education and advancement of women and minorities in technology.  She is often an invited speaker on both topics and eagerly accepts opportunities to share her experiences and extend the message of encouragement to diverse audiences.   She has appeared on several domestic and foreign television and radio networks as a technology and entrepreneurial expert, and continues to be frequently quoted by the on-line and printed media.

She is a graduate of the University of Maryland at College Park and holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics and has held a TS/SCI with PolySci security clearance for important government roles.   She is an alumnus of the University of Maryland’s program for Women Entrepreneurs in Technology and an active member of member of The City of Atlanta Woman Entrepreneur Initiative (WEI).   Marilyn also participates in in Black Women in Science and Engineering (BWISE), The Society of Women Engineers, (SWE) and serves on the Board of TechAmerica Georgia and Technology Association of GA Information Security and Mobile Technology.  She volunteers her time to the Grace Hopper Conference and Anita Borg Institute and mentors young women interested in high tech businesses.    She is currently authoring “Weighted on the Bottom:  The Road to Successful Entrepreneurship in Tech” to be published later in 2018.
